I am saddened to have to inform everyone that dear Dorothy Seaborn, wife of the late Albert Seaborn has passed away. Dorothy and Albert were ever-presents at the Blackpool conventions until Albert passed in October 2013. This lovely couple were always to be found on or very near the front row at the conventions and even after Dorothy said a final farewell to Albert, with the help of family members, Dorothy eventually found her way back to the meetings and would attend whenever possible. Well-known to all, Dorothy was just happy to continue doing what she and Albert would always do in Blackpool, just sit at the front and enjoy the entertainment and the many friendships made over so many years of membership, dating back to 1993. Two special friends were Gill Walley and Dolwyn Shone. Amongst others who are also now sadly gone were Millie and Mac McGee. The many GFS members who attend the Blackpool conventions strike up friendships over the convention weekends. I have known Albert and Dorothy since Albert joined in 1993 but all I know is that they were a devoted couple who came from Manchester and had a loving family who always supported them both, and especially in these last years when Dorothy came the Blackpool meetings. She would always be accompanied by family members who would be with her throughout the weekend. To Dorothy's family, on behalf of the GFS committee and its members, I extend sincere condolences for their sad loss. PP - 18/07/23
