the three peaks challenge
Caroline does it again! This Titan fundraiser for the MNDA
charity completed the marathon, arduous Three Peaks Walk
easily within the recognised time of twelve hours. Saturday,
the 17th June was quite warm, perhaps the last day of a mini-
heatwave. Caroline covered the twenty-five-mile walk and
climb in a good time of eleven hours eleven minutes and
burned off 3,677 calories in the process.
The other notable figure and the one that is the most
important is that Caroline once again smashed through her
target of raising £2,000 and at the time of writing, the figure
now stands at £2,326.
Caroline is driven by the loss of her dear friend Lesley
Fowkes, and has trained hard for this latest challenge and even though she had suffered a
foot injury she carried on undaunted.
Many have supported Caroline in all her charitable campaigns but now that the dear girl can
take a well-earned rest, we need to show our appreciation by pushing the figure raised, even
higher!
Any contribution is welcome for such a worthy cause and for such a lovely lady as Lesley.
Please continue to support Caroline, Lesley's beloved memory and the Motor Neurone
Disease Associations' continuing battle to improve access to care, research and campaigning
for people affected by this terrible illness.
What will Caroline do next I wonder?
The Three Peaks of Pen-y-ghent,
Ingleborough and Whernside inside
twelve hours is a tough challenge for anyone but this dear lady prepares and works
so hard to achieve her targets. She seems to be unstoppable. I get the strong
impression that Caroline’s charity work will run and run.
