Ron Spiers took over instrument making when Ron Beddoes gave up due to ill health.Ron Spiers was a qualified Engineer, toolmaker and cabinet maker. He had his own business in a very special trade which supplied tools to ‘Model Engineering’ companies and amateur model makers. He started making Banjo Ukes but only as a hobby. What quality! Anyone who was lucky enough to purchase one of his instruments were well pleased both with the construction and the sound. Due to ill health and business commitments, Ron ceased production but not before making some Gibson and Ludwig copies that were masterpieces of craftsmanship Shown here is the Gibson UB2 copy.
