Great news! The second annual Morecambe One-Day convention in the famous Morecambe Winter Gardens is now confirmed and will be held on Saturday 26th July 2014.Once again the GFS Shop will be in attendance and the usual food and bar facility will be available.Last year’s event turned out to be on of the highlights in the 2013 George Formby Society calendar and we would hope that members and friends will support the event once again. The chance to visit and better still, to play in this wonderful old theatre just cannot be missed! The GFS committee meets on Sunday 23rd February 2014 to discuss final details which will be published here after that date - but it is fair to say that after the success of Morecambe 2013 I would have thought that the format will stay very much as it was last year.Doors will be open from 10am to 10pm and the event is free to all but we would hope that donations will be freely given by all who attend which will be of benefit to the further restoration of this lovely old theatre. At last year's event we manage to raise £1500 and it would be great if we could surpass this figure. Visitors will be able to donate throughout the day at various locations with the theatre.
